How the Waitlist Function on MotorSportReg Works

How the Waitlist Function on MotorSportReg Works 2017-04-28T07:15:06-06:00
MotorSportReg does an excellent job of managing registrations based the capacity we have available. This includes overall track capacity, but most often people end up on the waitlist because of the number of instructors available to provide Novice Instruction.

In the specific case of Novice Instruction, there is a limit to how many novice drivers and checkout rides we can accommodate at each of our events. This is primarily a function of the number of instructors available on any given date. If the available instructors for an event are “sold out”, further registrations are placed on a waitlist. If you choose to register on the waitlist, your credit card number is stored by MotorSportReg but no changes are processed to the credit card. If we see there are people on the waitlist, we will do our best to find them instructors. If additional instructors become available, we then contact drivers on the waitlist and, if they are still able to attend, we move them to the confirmed list and MotorSportReg changes their credit card. If the driver is no longer available, we simply cancel their registration and their credit card is not charged. If an insufficient number of instructors are available, the registration becomes dormant (same as being cancelled) and no changes are processed to their credit card. There are no circumstances where we permit a novice driver, or driver with unknown or stale experience, to drive without instruction and/or a checkout ride.

In the case of overall track capacity, there is a physical limit to how many cars can be put on track at any given time without the track becoming too congested. If you choose to register on the waitlist, your credit card number is stored by MotorSportReg but no changes are processed to the credit card. If we see there are people on the waitlist, we will do our best to juggle the run groups and find some space. If we can make some room, or if someone cancels at the last minute, we then contact drivers on the waitlist and, if they are still able to attend, we move them to the confirmed list and MotorSportReg changes their credit card. If the driver is no longer available, we simply cancel their registration and their credit card is not charged. If we can’t find space, the registration becomes dormant (same as being cancelled) and no changes are processed to their credit card.

We do NOT ever charge your credit card at the last minute without contacting you to confirm your availability. Of course, if you choose not to include your telephone number in your MotorSportReg profile, it makes it very difficult for us to offer you a spot at the last minute should one become available.
